Bee venom honey is a mixture of honey and bee venom that can be taken to boost the immune system. Bee venom itself is a bitter colourless liquid that is released through the sting of a bee. It is actually the venom that is painful when stung by bee.

Bee venom contains melittin, histamine, peptides and other biogenic amines that have been used to treat arthritis and other painful conditions. Melittin is known to strengthen immune system.

Bee venom also has an active portion of a mixture of proteins that acts as an anti-coagulant, a class of drug that work to prevent clotting of blood. The anticoagulants can also be injected into the human body as a medication for thrombotic disorders, a formation of blood clot inside a blood vessel obstructing the flow of blood through the circulatory system.
