Propolis resin is produced by bees from plant extract, it is mixed with the bees own enzymes to act as a disinfectant to keep the hive sterile. We can use this resin as; an antibiotic, soothing sore throats, reducing inflammation, speeds up wound healing, combating fungal infections and strengthening the body’s immune system.

It can be used internally to treat colds, bronchitis, stomach ulcers, respiratory disorders, liver and kidney inflammation, ear, nose and throat infections and toothaches. Externally it will heal cuts, burns, and other minor skin infections.

Uganda’s pristine natural environment produces a propolis that is free of pollutants. This is available on the market both in Uganda and abroad.

Bee venom

Bee venom honey is a mixture of honey and bee venom that can be taken to boost the immune health. Bee venom itself is a bitter colourless liquid that is released through the sting of a bee. This is the painful part of the beesting.

Bee venom contains melittin, histamine, peptides and other biogenic amines that have been used to treat arthritis and other painful conditions.

The bee venom honey has been popular in Uganda among those that live with the HIV virus as it greatly increases the CD4 count. See the article below.

Our famous honeymead is the oldest form of alcohol. Known to be the ambrosia of the Gods as a gift from heaven. Because of this belief mead was considered to have magical and sacred properties that would; prolong life, bestow health, strength, virility and re-creative powers. A months worth of mead was given to newlyweds as a gift and is the origins of the honeymoon.
